The place we are having our reception is in the Art Deco style. Does anyone have any ideas of how to construct table cards that would reflect this style? Any ideas where I can look for Art Deco photos, postcards, prints, etc. to use that would not be too expensive? Wedding is months away so I am just planning. I will use pewter hurricane lanterns on the tables with some flowers…Thanks for any ideas.

Okay, for my wedding Im donig a country theme. They are long 8ft banquet tables, im going to do ivory table linens, with a tan burlap runner. At each place setting I’ll have a bright yellow napkin floded with their gift on each one. I’ll have wine glasses and each table as well. On the runner I’ll have 2 buckets of flowers. Not just shoved in there but nice and orgainezed. Sunflowers, snaps, all that good stuff. Then im thinking about buying these laterns

the white ones and placing them in between the buckets so i’ll have 3 at each table. is that enough or should i put some more candles, or like sprinkle some yellow rose petals, my main color is yellow, accented with browns and tans. Im just trying to imagine it and it seems so bland. please tell me any ideas! Thankyou!!! oh ya my flowers are sunflowers.

My sister and I are throwing a bridal shower for my cousin. There are 6 girls in the wedding but we are doing ALL the work but collecting money…hopefully from everyone. It is a big shower, 70 people invited only women.
We looked and looked for decorations that werent…tacky and couldnt find much. We are keeping it simple. Nice table runners with 2 tiered plate holders for appetizers at every table then switching the plates over to desserts to be served with the cake. Colored tool to be draped between pillers at the place we are having the reception. Putting lights on 5 fake trees they have there…if they let us move them into the room. We wantes looked for a bridal shower sign to put up but could find nothing so we made one and decided to make more. We used nice colored stock paper to match the decor, with ivory cut outs in the middle. We cut he stock in squares, the ivory sits on top and smaller cut with fancy scissors so it has a different edge than the plain square…so a framed look. We used nice ribbon to tie them together and the ends are longer ribbons tied in a bow at the end to hang. They turned out sooooooo nice!!! we have…Bridal Shower, then made others. Mrs. Bride, Love…the o is a heart. Mary (heart’s…a heart) Doug, I do!, We wanted to make more but stopped before it got to much.
so easy and cheap…and we had a great night making them.
They are really nice…we may start a business! do you think it would work? Not to make millions, just a hobby to make a few extra bucks.

I’m getting married on january 3rd in a big country house, I’m keeping all the christmas decorations up and would love to incorporate a christmas theme into the table decorations and maybe the cake and things too – but don’t want it to end up looking like a grotto gone bad!
