Summer was drawing to a close so i knew time was running out as far as completing any outdoor projects was concerned. My wife has been pestering me about building a kids picnic table since the turn of the year. Because I’m not a DIY kind of person, i got hold of a set of plans which have been hidden away in the tool shed at the bottom of the garden, maybe i was hoping they would just wither away.
The pressure was building, i knew i had to make a start this weekend while the weather was still good. To be honest with you i was not sure if i could read a set of plans let a lone construct anything from them. Lucky for me these plans were lay-ed out so even an idiot like me could follow along. As a family we tend to spend a lot of time out of doors, so my wife thought a kids picnic table would be a good center piece to the garden.
I was surprised how well i took to a hammer and saw, this being the first project of this type i had tackled since i left school. As it turns out this project was a breeze, and only took me the best part of a day to finish. To be fare without the kids picnic table plans i don’t know where i would have started, never mind finish. The wife and kids were very impressed, shocked in fact that i was able to make anything that looked so professionally made.
