My wedding is coming up quick, 4 months to go. I am trying to decide how I want to decorate the head table. My colors are red, white, and silver, and there are 14 people at the head table.
I found some tall circular vases that I like,

I was thinking about filling them with water, putting gems at the bottom, and having floating candles at the top and have one in between every person at the table. Is that too many? Should I do ever 2 people?
Then, I wanted to get a longer skinny square vase

And have that in the middle of the head table, with the red stones and water with silver floating candles..
What else should I have up there? More little tea light candles? Rose petals scattered? Any Ideas?
What did your head table look like?

I think the second one is better. You still want to be able to see everyone’s faces. Having one in-between every single person may be a bit much. You could do every two, and just have candles, red rose petals, or other small decor on the table between the larger decor.
I’ve also seen tall vases like that filled with water, then filled with rose petals. This would bring in your color even more. The petals float right below the candle.
i think there will be too much going on at the head table if you have one inbetween each person. you want the people to be able to have conversation without something in their way.
i absolutely love the second square vase and i never seen something like that. maybe you should put the tall vase, then put the square, then put the tall, then put the square and then put the tall again.
it will be a total of 5 vases (if that fits). i think that would be cute and put it right in the center.
I don’t think you want to much on the table because you still need room for all of your plates and glasses as well, the head table can actually become quite crowded. I like your idea but I think less is more. We had as the centerpiece between my husband and I our unity candle from the church which had a floral arrangement done in our colors and then we had a lighted glittered garland that was attached all along the end of the table which looked amazing in all of the pictures and added a really soft subtle glow to the table, we also had one glass candle holder with glittered candles for our wedding colors in front of every ones place and then we had vases in front of every other space that my girls put their bouquets in when they got to the table, that way they weren’t just laying around somewhere and they served as decoration. We also had the glittered fall leaves scattered about the table as well. So if I were you I’d alternate the tall vase and square vases, but I would do one tall skip a space one square skip a space and then one tall again, that way it’s not to much on the table, I mean you want to see the bridal party too! And if you can find a garland or a lighted or glittered garland in your wedding colors, they really do look nice and add something to the plain edge of the table. Good Luck!!!
Are your bridesmaids all carrying bouquets? Often these are placed on the table facing the guests. This adds alot of color. With 14, it will definitely work well. Don’t use anything tall. It blocks the view from both directions.
