Take several trips to various craft & supply stores and dollar stores. Buy what’s on sale, and do all the arrangements yourself. If you’re handy with a glue gun and have a creative eye, you can do marvelous things with very little time, effort, or money. Also, many of the design staff at the craft stores are chock FULL of helpful hints & suggestions….you only need to ask.
Also take a couple of trips to a few libraries. There are literally DOZENS of books on crafts & arrangements…and library borrowing makes it all free.
Ebay. or cut flowers from a garden if you have one. Nice table decoration can be goldfish swimming in caraf of water.
a wrapped chocolat loveheart with swing tag for name places.
there are heaps of lovely things you can do, and homemade is cheaper with personal touch. A lovely wedding does not ensure a happy marriage. Thats the most important thing.
- small votive candles in pastel colors
- a bouquet of fake flowers, some look real these days
- check the Christmas Tree Shop for other ideas such as small lanterns or hurricane lamps, etc.
I’ve thought that one table centerpiece that was really cute and really simple (and cheap) was to buy glass bowls fill halfway with water and put rose petals, colored beads, and floating candles in them.
Tips: 1. For the glass bowls you can mix and match them if you wanna buy them at a thrift store for a unique look
2. You can use all or just some of the items listed above. I’ve seen them do just beads and candles.
3. Don’t light the candles until the last second before the reception starts!
The answer is a lot of “do it yourself”. Raid the craft stores for all their on sale silk flowers, and tons of it can be found at dollar stores. Don’t be afraid to haggle. Then go on a centerpiece creating blitz.
I don’t know about fish. If there are a lot of drunks at the wedding they might wind up on the floor on in people’s stomachs.
Michaels puts out a pamphlet of wedding decor ideas that comes with a list of items needed……I think this will really help you out! One of things that I can think of that really looks gorgeous is putting white table clothes on the tables and scatter rose petals (thaht you can buy really inexpensive at Michaels)….they also have do it yourself guides to centerpieces…..and I priced most of the materials and can be made for just a few dollars each!
Mirrors also go a long way….get some small mirrors and place on the tables…scatter rose petals on them and put a single vase with a flower in it! Simple yet elegant!
Tulle is almost a must have for decor…it’s so cheap and comes in almosts every color imaginable….it would be really pretty to twist pale pink and white tulle…almost like a cotton candy effect! …and the classic white twinkle lights wrapped in it!
Hope this helps you all out!
