I used to work at a craft store many years ago, and before it went out of business they had a HUGE sale from 50 – 90% off…i knew eventually one day i would get married…and now im engaged!!!
I have everything from my own invitation making kits and all my table and aisle decorations, and arch supplies…pretty much everything i need to decorate my table and wedding…. (except flowers of course)
Now can i find someone to decorate the tables for me? that would use my decorations? i know alot of places ive been looking at for wedding planners say they use their own decorations (stupid i think) …where would i find someone? i have no artsy or talented (decorating wise) people in my family that i know of or would trust to set up the tables while im getting ready…..what to do..?
( we live in AZ)

Do it yourself maybe? See if you can get in the reception venue the day before to set everything up yourself. Don’t waste time or money with wedding planners….everything you need can be done yourself!
Well, can you come up with the design and get your family to follow your directions?
Do you know how you want everything decorated? If so, is there someone you could explain it to and trust that they will do it like you want?
Interior decorators and local artists can be a valuable resource to create your vision. For a great location to marry or have a honeymoon go to my Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/anondenominationalminister/

talk to another wedding planner and if they say “well you have to use our decorations” then reply with “well that’s the reason I didn’t go with so and so to plan my wedding, I just want it to seem like it is actually my wedding! Is there anything you can do?” …. if they say no then just say ” thanks I’ll let someone else plan it for me then.
I think this should work because wedding planners usually need money. (Hope I’m not being politically incorrect) but my sister and I did it for a while, it would have worked on me.
But I must admit that the reason they may have not rolled with the idea is because wedding planners get stood up alot and she probably made a judgement towards you when you told her how much you bargained on the decorations.
If all fails just go out on a limb and ask someone with any skill even if you hardly know them, whoever it may be they will probably take pride in showing their artsy skills and be glad to get paid doing it.
Gather your friends together and come up with something. We decorated our hall the day before, my brother, his wife, and sisters and stuff and friends. We had a great time. I had pre-made a lot of the decorations myself, including silk flower arrangements. You’ll also have to make arrangements for someone to take down the decorations after the reception, because you’ll be honeymooning! Good luck. Sometimes you can find a caterer who will do some of it for you, and use your stuff.
Where are you getting married? If you are using a church maybe some parishioners would be happy to help. Are you having the reception at a hotel? Talk to the hotel manager and see what you can arrange etc. Check with your florist too. and remember money goes a long way.
set up a table at home how you would like it and show a friend or relative and practise with them, you never know you may be surprised at ideas others may have even if you think they are not artsy,
i am setting everything up the day before so i can be there to see how it looks and don’t knock back offers of help just because you don’t think they are talented (decorating wise), you may find you really need it when the time comes
good luck
