My brother is getting married in June. His fiance and her mother have asked me to help with the wedding reception. (particularly the decorations) She is wanting a summer(ish) themed wedding. She knows she wants bird of paradise for her flower. She also wants the colors found in that flower to be her wedding colors. (yellow, orange, light blue-ish purple)
Sorry for all the detail. My question is does anyone have any CREATIVE ideas for things like centerpieces at the guest tables and head table decorations. Also she wants to have a unique place for the guests to set their gifts. (not necessarily a table!) eg. a winter wedding guests could place their gifts under a christmas tree.

this is a toughy….so here it goes
as far as the dress she could have a sash/ribbon around the waist of her dress in the color that she wants it too be, and the shoes could match the ribbon/sash and the garter could as well, and maybe her bouquet if shes wanting to go all out.
As for the unique place to put the gifts, she could purchase a bunch of the flowers that she likes and cover the table with them/ the flower.
and also have some of the flowers on the floor around the table. if not the birds of paradise, try some redish lillies or something along the line of that.
its hard to work with the birds of paradise flower lol
centerpieces you could get the round class bowls or what ever they are classes and fill them with water and get the water lillies and put in them with the floating candles or the gel beads to put in at the bottom and have the pieces to put under them that makes the light up/illuminate which ever color light it is.
are you going for more of a garden summer theme or beach summer theme?

When you said birds of paradise I immediately thought of Hawaii, since I live here. I think tropical. maybe you can do large bamboo as a vase with birds of paradise and hibiscus flowers. You could set up a hammock for the gifts to go in. You could cover the tables in banana leaves or palm leaves. Maybe not the whole luau theme, but definitely think tropical island or lazy summer days….
