I totally forgot I owned this thing. Bought it for a screaming price last year and didn’t do any camping. That’s gonna change this summer, already got an adventure booked on the calendar. This thing looks awesome and should work out very well in the hotel. LOL, just kidding. Actually looking forward to putting this through the trials serving up grub for the spawn of Kemplen. Of course spawn has dish duty. Muhahahaha
I also purchased my Rio kitchen for $40.00, it amounts to just paying for the shipping, this product is so poorly made that even at $40 I felt ripped off. When I received it I was amazed at how many defects it had, for those who paid full price, sorry. What I did was take the base with the legs and used it on another table to give me that counter height, and the side tables I took apart and used for something else. The actual table with the sink, ended up in the recycling bin.
My wife like her new kitchen. It is a bit heavy. The construction is good. The mounts for the rear shelf are a little out of alignment, but you never buy anything that is perfect anymore. I suggest using a luggage strap around the unit for trans port as the clips sometimes come loose aloowing the parts to fall out during the trip to the campground. Once you get it to the site and set up though its great and very sturdy.
I too had seen this back when it was at a much lower price than what I ended up buying it for. I didn’t bite at the low price because frankly, I didn’t have an immediate use for it. Long story short, I thought it looked like a great thing to have while camping, especially for someone who like to cook as much as I do, so I went ahead and bought one(paying roughly twice as much as I would have late last year).
I got the table about two weeks before our camping trip and set out to give it a test run on the deck. Not only did I find out how darned HEAVY is was, I also discovered that it had sustained some pretty serious damage during it’s trip.
So, I opted to return it. No complaints here: Sportsman’s Guide and Amazon were both GREAT about the return. I was sent a label and just gave the packed box to my UPS driver. A few days later I got an email saying that my credit card was credited in full for the price of the item and shipping charges. No harm, no foul.
I was however now without a table for my trip so I went with my second choice, the Coleman PackAway tableColeman Pack-Away Kitchen. I’ll save the review for another place and time, but I will say here that although it does not offer the same amount of space, nor the same features as the Rio, it is MUCH more compact and robust and worked out VERY well on our trip.
I received the kitchen in a box that was torn up and had holes in it. One of the clips holding the unit together was broken off. Customer service has not been friendly ( sportsman store ) and finally sent me a return mailing label to send the unit back. Unfortunately, due to the damage of the original packaging, I am not able to return.
I have used this kitchen on a recent camping trip. It serves the purpose intended and I will be happy to use it again. As stated with other reviews, it is a heavy unit. I have and would recommend this product to others, but hopefully they will not have the problems I encountered.
