Everyone loves a bargain and in the current economic climate we have all have to find ways to look stylish for less. This movement has even led to a new term ‘the recessionista’, the person who is trying to be fashionably frugal and wants to look hot for little!

One of the most important factors for dressing your best for less is to do some research, search online for current trends and styles instead of opting to buy expensive glossy mags. Also make a list of what you need, to try to avoid those impulse buys that you will only wear once. If you know you only have a minimum budget for the season go for classic colours that will work with the rest of the wardrobe and avoid anything too fussy, too printed and embellished, remember simple good style lasts. Solid colours definitely mix-and-match more easily than patterned prints that are more easily remembered, solid colours that can be worn with different combinations will make you look like you have a larger wardrobe than you do! Choose classics that have quality attributes that will stand the test of time rather than buying into trends that are designed for you to buy into every season. Remember that if the style press say animal print this season no doubt next it will be on what not to wear list!

Dresses are great if your weight fluctuates as trousers and jeans can be a bit problematic, so if Christmas is coming, why not buy some dresses, tops and shirts that have more flexibility than skinny jeans and tight fit trousers.
